Our Story

Delanie graduated from Philadelphia University in May of 2013 with an Interior Design degree. She moved back to Maine to explore the world of Design in New England. Shortly after her return, she joined the team at Old Port Specialty Tile as an assistant and receptionist. Delanie thoroughly enjoys working in the colorful and richly textured environment of decorative tile. She brings with her the experience of 2 and 3D computer drawings and looks forward to helping clients visualize their projects. Delanie has always valued working with people. She is the one to talk to about making an appointment to meet with a project manager or receive a tour of the showroom.

Katie joined the team in 2005 as assistant to the showroom mananger. Over the years she has flourished in the industry, experiencing some of the most exciting and innovative trends of the specialty tile and stone business. Today, Katie serves as the Showroom Manager and Lead Project Manager for many of the beautiful projects we are privileged enough to be a part of. As Old Port Specialty Tile Co transitions into a third generation family owned business, Katie is now an integral part of the leadership team alongside her parents, sibilings and long term staff. She is passionate about the industry and collaborating with our clients and vendors on each and every project - whether it's with an architect at the very early stages of a project or on a remodel a homeowner has been dreaming about for many years. Katie not only enjoys working with the medium of tile, but has great respect for the relationships she has been able to develop with each and every client. This is how she truly believes she is able to give the best service and product recommendations to fit their lifestyle.

Lindsay discovered a passion for design at the tender age of nine, while putting together her Barbie’s dream house. Never wavering from her need to be creative, Lindsay attended one of the country’s premier art schools: Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. After working at Residential and Commercial Design Firms in New York and Maine, Lindsay landed in Portland and discovered the perfect blend of her small Maine hometown and the big city she grew to love. Lindsay joined the team at Old Port Specialty Tile in early 2011. As a “Jill of all trades” on any given day, you could find her writing estimates, researching products and installation methods, guiding customers through the showroom, drawing and designing tile layouts, or any number of other tasks; anything to be helpful! When she’s not rifling through tile displays in the Old Port you might find Lindsay buried in a good book, working on some craft project or belting out show tunes.

Nadine fell in love with tile design by landing her first showroom position in 2003 in Rochester, NY,  while getting her degree at SUNY Brockport in Radio and TV Broadcasting . It did not take long for Nadine to realize that tile was her true passion. In 2007 she decided to head back to her roots in upstate New York where she worked in the industry until May of 2015 when Nadine and her wife decided to make their dreams of living in Maine come true. Shortly after Nadine join the Old Port Specialty Tile Team as a Project Manager where she brings knowledge and expertise to every project, big or small, with the intent of bringing the clients vision to reality.  She brings with her the experience of AutoCAD to develop 2D drawings to help her clients visualize tile layouts.  To her tile is beautiful, yet functionally, trendy but classic and loves how every project is unique to her clients personal style.

Theresa joined the then two-man staff of Old Port Specialty Tile Co. back in 2003. At the time she was needed for general office duties and greeting of clients. As Office Assistant she learned quickly that this was much more than a tile store. She loves to talk with the clients and get to know who they are, and not just what their tiling needs may be. She forged many relationships with repeat clientele and helped strengthen bonds with vendors to create open communication with on going jobs. The introduction of a team atmosphere has allowed the store to grow and strengthen its bond with each and every client. Theresa is now co-manager with Katie. She still comes to the floor to welcome and assist clients as well as bridges a gap between Old Port and its sister store Capozza Tile and Floor Covering Center. When you have billing inquiries she is the one to call on.
